6 C O N F E R E N C E S OptiCon Headed for a Magical Event at Disney World O ptiCon 2017 will be here before you know it. Opticians and contact lens technicians will take over Walt Disney World's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL, Oct. 6-8, 2017. Educational sessions, networking opportunities and surprises await you at this year's event. The educational sessions are being presented by some of the top speakers in opticianry and the contact lens industry. By attending OptiCon 2017, you'll be able to earn up to 15 continuing education credits over three days in a variety of subject areas, with ABO and/or NCLE credits in General Knowledge or Technical categories. For those licensed in Florida, you'll find Florida Rules and Regulations and Prevention of Medical Errors courses. Don't miss your chance to take both courses in one day. The full conference registration fee is $249, which includes educational sessions from Friday through Sunday afternoon, breakfast during the general session, lunch in the exhibit hall with over 50 optical industry vendors and professional organizations, the OptiCon Welcome Event on Friday night and the NFOS College Bowl on Saturday. Groups of five or more people registering together from one organization for full conference registration will receive a discount, so bring your colleagues. The special for this year is the Friday evening OptiCon Welcome Event. It will take place at Disney's Polynesian Resort at the 8:15pm seating of Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. We have reserved the entire event just for OptiCon attendees. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is two short monorail stops from Disney's Contemporary Resort. Come celebrate the spirit of aloha, as well as the sights, sounds and tastes of Polynesia with your OptiCon colleagues and friends. Bringing friends or family to join you at Disney?
