Easy Ways to Support Vision of Hope 7 T he Vision of Hope (VOH) Foundation is a non-profit organization that was created in 2011 by the Opticians Association of America (OA A). The VOH focuses on three objectives: 1. To support missions across the world 2. To support educational activities with the Vision of Hope Grant Foundation in honor of Russell Fritz, Sr. 3. To support travel to OA A's Leadership Conference The VOH also houses the Eric Muth Library and Museum collection that is being displayed at the Optical Heritage Museum in Southbridge, Ma. The VOH was formed to promote opticianry education, develop future opticianry leaders, and perform international, national and community based vision-related mission work. The foundation's mission is to provide vision for the needy— one pair of glasses at a time—through education, leadership and mission work. "Help America See" is a mission of OA A, though helping the world see is a cause every optician can get behind. In 2016, The Vision of Hope Foundation was able to provide countless individuals the resources necessary to conduct mission work in six countries, and the U.S. Missions were funded through the generosity of various frame and lens manufacturers as well as personal contributions. Since its infancy, VOH has taken on a life of its own and recently elected a board of directors to help focus on its continued growth. The development of four committees— fundraising, missions, web development, and educational grants—stemmed from this election. Part of this growth includes the recent development of its educational grant program for second-year students attending NFOS- affiliated programs. These students can now apply online for this grant by visiting the VOH's new website created by Samantha Toth and Innexus Media at Another avenue for contributing funds is online shopping through Amazon. Sign up at: ch/45-4762607 . By using this link, Amazon will donate 0.5% of eligible sales from your orders to VOH. You can also see how much you personally have contributed just by signing up. If you are already an Amazon customer, all order lists for your Amazon account will be unchanged. Nothing changes if you use the link above. You simply log in under smile. (Please change your website bookmarks to enable this.) The website will look and act the same to the Amazon site you're familiar with. With help from opticians like you and vendor partners, the VOH will be able to fund all of these amazing endeavors. Some of our vendor partners have VOH donation arrangements, too, so please buy from them so they can give to us. If you have any questions about programs that can support VOH causes, please email me at . Kyle Beudet and Denyse Gauthier are both OA A Board Members. V I S I O N O F H O P E
